Cavapoo care: coat, separation and health screening
The two hardest parts of Cavapoo ownership are the coat and the attachment. Plan for both from week one.

The coat is a real commitment
Brush to the skin every other day with a slicker and a comb check, and book a groomer every six to eight weeks from around sixteen weeks old so the puppy learns the process before it needs a full groom. Budget accordingly; matted coats end in a full shave-down.
Separation training
Start alone-time practice on day two: seconds, then minutes, always returning before distress. Cavapoos bond intensely and separation problems are much easier to prevent than to treat.
Health screening to expect
Cardiac clearance on the Cavalier line for mitral valve disease, syringomyelia discussion, and DNA panels including PRA-prcd, DM, episodic falling and von Willebrand disease.
