Feeding a Ragdoll: portions, growth and slow maturity
Ragdolls grow for three to four years, which makes 'kitten food until twelve months' the wrong rule for the breed.

Life stages
Feed a growth or all-life-stages diet until at least twelve months, and keep energy density up until the cat's weight plateaus, usually somewhere between two and four years.
Free-feeding dry food is the single most common cause of overweight Ragdolls. Use measured meals two to three times a day instead.
Wet, dry or raw
All three can work. Wet food helps urinary health through water intake; dry is convenient and dense; raw requires strict hygiene and a properly balanced recipe rather than a home-guessed one.
Whichever you choose, look for an AAFCO or FEDIAF statement matching the life stage on the label.
Weight monitoring
Weigh monthly and score body condition by feel: ribs easily felt under a thin fat layer, a visible waist from above, and a tucked abdomen from the side. A 20 lb Ragdoll can be lean or obese, so the number alone tells you nothing.
